The structure is split-level, conforming to the contours of the natural slopes. The lower levels are tucked into the hillside, providing thermal insulation from the earth. The south-facing walls are glazed with dual glass and allow light and warmth to penetrate the interiors. z17.jpg (203,145 bytes)

The home is heated with in-floor hot water tubes which provide consistent and quiet thermal comfort. And, since the site is too remote to receive full electrical service from the local utility company, the home receives its electrical power from an array of solar photovoltaic panels and a battery storage system. z22.jpg (75,048 bytes)
